Dhaka filmfest to host Iran’s ‘Nobody Dies Here’

The 15th Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh is to screen ‘Nobody Dies Here’ from Iran.

The 15th edition of the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh is scheduled to show Iran feature film ‘Nobody Dies Here’.

The festival’s website recently announced that Hossein Kondori’s ‘Nobody Dies Here’, depicting the loneliness of a conscript, is accepted by the selection board to be screened in the event.

Co-produced by acclaimed Iranian director Abbas Rafei and Sina Saeedian, the movie will vie at the Cinema of the World section of Dhaka film festival.

Two other Iranian films to compete at the same section are ‘Until Ahmed Returns’ by Sadeq Sadeq-Daqiqi as well as ‘Hailstone and Sunlight’ by Reza Karimi.

Other sections of the event will also screen a number of Iranian titles, including ‘Malaria’ by Parviz Shahbazi, ‘Daughter’ by Reza Mirkarim, ‘Life and a Day’ by Saeed Roustaee, ‘Identity’ by Behrouz Sebt-Rasoul, ‘The Window by Rahbar Qanbari’ and ‘Valderama’ by Abbas Amini.

The event has dedicated a special section to two recently deceased filmmakers Abbas Kiarostami from Iran and Yeşim Ustaoğlu from Turkey.

Established in 1992, the 15th edition of the Dhaka International Film Festival will be held on January 12-22, 2017, in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
